String of Fate

Not to be confused with the red string of fate, though Ref would make a joke about it. Here's his string of fate, so he says, the equalizer, the "red" string being that of "blood" and "fate" being that of "demise". Yeah, pretty much, the thread cuts you, it will and can slice you into as many pieces he wishes. This is the weapon he usually uses. xD

Ref... Ehhh. His real name is Narakumaru, but he calls himself Ref here.
His demon status. Let's see if I can clear this up as clear as I can make it.
He is the Prince of Hell. It's not just a title, folks.
Basically, he's the son of a demon who pretty much is over all of the other demons and their kings.. Buuut he does not rule in Makai. No. He rules in Hell.
Think of it as like Dracula, the King of all Vampires. Yes, he is the ultimate king, but the vamps under or below him don't listen, obey, or serve him. There are other vamps who have power, too.. But the King of All Vampires is still the King of all Vampires.
It's sort of like that.
And just like the King of All Vampires.. you know this guy has to have some mighty frightening power. Alucard/Dracula is that vampire king and he is more powerful than the other vamps. ...The same goes for Ref.
This guy has the power and the forces of hell behind him.
Don't fuck with him.
Better yet, don't mess with or hurt Kazuma.
He's protective of him. Don't dare lay a finger upon that orange haired person's head with harmful intentions. Don't. Just don't. This guy will BREAK you.
Kazuma has met his match with this one. He has the same punkish ways, the same knightly hood as he does.. Trust me, even if Ref is insane and loose cannon, this guy has lived long enough that he knows and holds the same principles of a knight..as well as the honor code. He's basically a dark knight while Kazuma is the shining knight.
Ref is also blunt and can seem like a bastard. Hell, he is a bastard, especially to those whom he doesn't like. Worse of all, he toys with his enemies.
Even so... He does have charm. Can you believe it?
I should draw or write it.. But when it comes to Kazuma, he can have the charm of a true gentleman, despite how blunt he is. He's powerful, he can be overbearing, and he is most certainly dark. Kazuma is the light. His light.
He is punk because that is the role he plays when seeming human. But his demon side, his true face.. Is all I have mentioned. Yes, he can be a monster. But like any monster, he does have a heart.
